Hello. I have 3 questions; What exactly is “any-IDE ROM”? What are the differences between KI2 Dedicated and KI2 Conversion Hardware? What is the best version of MAME (or the most compatible) to run KI1 and KI2 with the files (rom and chd) that you have made available for download? Thanks.
Hi Fernando.
1. “any-IDE” means this ROM is compatible with IDE-based replacements for the original Killer Instinct hard drive. In our case, this is a CF Adapter that allows us to use a CompactFlash card as a hard drive replacement.
2. Differences between hardware can be summed up with this image (from the old site):

3. Best version of MAME? I’d say the latest version you can get on whatever platform you’re running.
BTW – I put up a ROM/CHD MAME bundle – the link is on the Downloads page.
